I was a troll Los Angeles
I make my home under palm trees
She was a crazy from up in the hills
She came to me when she needed a thrill

She picks me up at 7 sharp
As if I knew time wasn’t a living lark
All we have is a cunning tale
Of misery laced with her perfumed wail

But down at the Dume Room
Nobody’s got a face
It’s right up there by the Zumaroo
Where we all got a dusty little hiding place, place

6am got a Winston cough
waitin’ for the pick up trucks to haul us off
diggin’ ditches with Pedro y Fred
I guess we’d be friends if I knew what they said

I like the beach when nobodies there
I like the surfers ‘cause they don’t care
Put on your face when you’re making a deal
She throws me cash just to spin her wheels

Guess we’re lucky we don’t blow away
The Santa Ana’s have hell to pay
Firestorms in our own backyard
Turn a rich man soft and a poor man hard
